A certain educational background in electrical engineering is required, either a high school level or a college/university. Electricity is a dangerous thing and only qualified personnel should conduct work on electrical installation, including the design of the installation.
Additionally, a certain experience in the panel wiring and electrical installation will ease your work in my courses. I'm saying this because it will be easier for you if you already understand what a contactor or a motor overload switch do. On the other hand, my course series Devices And Circuits cover those basic devices, wiring, circuits etc. so if you are a total beginner then you might want to start with those. And use a drafting software of your choice, it doesn't have to be Eplan to be able to follow the lectures successfully.
I am generally strongly oriented towards real-life way of work in my courses. With the current Electrical design and Eplan courses I cover pretty much the whole spectrum of assignments you could encounter while working on a project. So from power calculations (my Simaris Design course) then further to creating all the circuit diagrams and then eventually also conducting a heat load calculation to properly size your climate control system in the cabinets and thus preventing the cabinets components from overheating and failing.
All this being said, my courses will be of a great benefit to you, since they come from an experienced electrical design engineer. But keep in mind that is your personal responsibility to keep on learning every single day and develop yourself as a designer.
Also, my recommendation, if you are in a position to choose projects, then choose more complex ones, that will help you to develop yourself further and expand your knowledge. Only active work on projects will ensure that you keep with the current trends in the industry/occupation and develop yourself further as a professional.
